COUPLE REMANDED IN CONNECTION WITH CHILDREN’S DEATH IN PORT DICKSON
Police have detained a couple as part of investigations into the death of two children in Port Dickson. The male suspect, believed to be the father of the victims, and his 41-year-old girlfriend were taken into custody after providing questionable statements at the Port Dickson District Police Headquarters.
According to Negeri Sembilan Criminal Investigation Department Chief, ACP Maslan Udin, the duo was brought before the Seremban Magistrate’s Court and has been remanded for seven days to assist investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death penalty for murder.
“The children’s biological mother is currently being traced by police to help with the ongoing investigation,” Maslan said when contacted.
Preliminary checks also revealed that the male suspect has a lengthy criminal history, with 16 previous records involving various offences. Of those, four cases are still classified as wanted by police. His partner, the 41-year-old woman, is a local citizen with no prior records disclosed so far.
Maslan confirmed that several witnesses have been called in for questioning, and further leads are being pursued to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
The case has sparked concern in the local community, with authorities urging members of the public to come forward with any relevant information. Investigators are working to piece together the timeline of events leading to the children’s deaths and the roles of those involved.
