VIRAL VIDEO: ENTREPRENEUR FAIZ AIZIF CHALLENGES RM400 STALL FEE, ALLEGES UNFAIR TREATMENT
BALING – Social media influencer and entrepreneur Faiz Aizif has become the center of public attention after a live video surfaced, showing him alleging that he was reprimanded by a licensing officer from the Baling District Council (MDB). The incident occurred after Faiz revealed that he had been charged RM400 for a trading site.
In the recording, Faiz questioned why he was criticized simply for disclosing the fee he personally paid. “If I was charged RM400 upfront, why shouldn’t I be allowed to say how much I was billed?” he remarked.
Faiz emphasized that his intention was not to stir controversy but to ensure other small traders were aware of the actual fees imposed. He expressed disappointment with what he described as an unprofessional response from the officer involved. According to him, civil servants should focus on assisting the public rather than burdening small business owners.
The video quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from netizens. Many voiced support for Faiz, calling the RM400 fee unreasonable for micro-entrepreneurs. Some urged senior MDB officials to clarify whether the charges were justified, while others demanded a transparent review of licensing practices.
In his statement, Faiz also pressed for a formal investigation into the officer’s conduct, stressing that such matters directly impact public trust in government integrity. He warned that mishandling cases like this could erode confidence in local authorities.
The controversy has now sparked broader debate about the challenges faced by small traders in Malaysia, particularly regarding licensing costs and the professionalism of enforcement officers.
